Most AI-generated LinkedIn posts sound the same. Here is a repeatable 5-minute process to use ChatGPT to write posts that actually sound like you and get engagement.
Step 1: Give it context about you
Start a new chat and paste a short bio of yourself: your role, your industry, who you help, and three topics you care about. This is the one-time setup that makes every future post better.
Step 2: Drop in your raw thought
Don’t ask it to invent a post. Instead, write a messy 2 to 3 sentence voice note of what you actually want to say. Paste that in and ask ChatGPT to turn it into a LinkedIn post in your voice.
Step 3: Force a hook
Add this to your prompt: “The first line must be a hook under 10 words that stops the scroll. No emojis in the hook. No buzzwords.” This alone fixes 80 percent of generic AI posts.
Step 4: Request three variations
Ask for three very different versions: one story-led, one contrarian, one practical list. Pick the one that feels closest to you and edit by hand.
Step 5: Edit ruthlessly
Cut any line that sounds like ChatGPT. Shorten sentences. Add one real detail only you could know. That final human pass is what makes the post land.
Do this five times and you will have a prompt and a workflow you can reuse for every post, in under five minutes each.
